# Close an Investigation or Incident

You can close an Investigation or Incident at any time. You should be sure to leave a comment with information about why you performed this action.

A closed Investigation or Incident can be reopened later if things change.

1. Select the Investigation on the **Activity > Investigations** page, or the Incident on the **Activity > Incidents** page.
2. Select either **Update Investigation** or **Update Incident** near the top of the screen. 
3. Choose **Close**.
4. Select **Save**.
5. Select **Add comment** to add a comment or other notes about why you closed the Investigation or Incident.
